Chatham’s annual SummerFest celebration was held on Saturday, July 10th. It was the kick-off to our 150th celebration of the incorporation of the village. Chatham’s annual OctoberFeast was held on Saturday, October 7th. We celebrated the harvest with local food and family fun. Entertainment included a mini petting zoo, face painting, pumpkin painting, craft projects, several local bands, a pretzel eating contest, dog costume contest, German Costume Contest, Stein Heist, and two Chili Contests!
Chatham’s annual WinterFest celebration was held on Saturday, December 16.
For Chatham’s 28th annual Summerfest the weather was perfect. Main Street was closed to traffic and The Children’s Parade kicked off at noon. Attendees listened to smooth jazz by Anthony Michael and skits by The Ghent Playhouse.
The Chatham’s Kid Club trick-or-treated through the village. What an adorable, well-behaved group! There were brides and princesses, super heroes, spooky characters, doctors, dinosaurs, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Even the chaperones were in costume.
On Sunday, April 28 more than 1,400 runners and walkers took part in the 3.1 mile, 5K event. The weather was perfect, blue skies and 70° F. The youngest runner was 6 years old and the oldest was 84. To learn more about this event, visit the website.
Monday, May 27 was a beautiful day. The parade kicked off at the firehouse, winding its way to the cemetery. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped remember those who have died in service of our country.

The PearsonWidrig DanceTheater, in town for two performances at PS21, treated Chatham to a site specific installation in the village on Wednesday, August 14th.
The Chatham Area Business Alliance sponsored a family-friendly Halloween Celebration on Saturday, October 29. The event included trick-or-treating, a scavenger hunt, prizes, gifts, games, and activities.
CABA’s eleventh annual event kicked off with a Children’s Parade, which started at the Morris Memorial. Chatham’s Girl Scout Troop #1755, leader Donna Bertrand, offered free face painting in the offices of Beach & Bartolo. Chatham’s community gazebo, a gift from the Lion’s Club, was decked out in its winter finest.
The parade kicked off from the Chatham Firehouse at 11:00 am., turned onto Woodbridge Avenue, proceeded down Kinderhook Street to Main Street and Hudson Avenue, finishing with a ceremony at the cemetery.
Another Chatham Area Business Alliance event: Shops and restaurants stay open late the first Friday of every month.
SummerFest is an annual celebration of the entire Chatham area. Community members and visitors get great bargains, learn about area not-for-profit organizations, and enjoy live music and a parade.
The Fair this year was held August 29-September 3 and featured midway rides, agricultural exhibits, livestock competitions, craft demonstrations, entertainment and more. According to Fair Manager Angelo Nero, good weather and high attendance made this one of the best fairs in years.
The parade kicked off at 11:00 am and was lead by newly crowned Schoolgirl Queen Elizabeth Meyers, a senior at Taconic Hills High School. Sponsored by A. Colarusso & Son, the parade featured more than three dozen fire companies, auxiliaries and marching bands.
On Saturday, October 27 the Chatham Area Business Alliance sponsored an all-day Halloween event for kids of all ages. The day featured trick-or-treating throughout the business community, as well as many other events and activities.
On Sunday, December 9 the Chatham Area Business Alliance sponsored an all-day holiday event for kids of all ages.
The Chatham Area Business Alliance (CABA) organizes this day as an annual celebration of the entire Chatham area. Community members and visitors get great bargains, learn about area not-for-profit organizations, and are entertained.
This old-fashioned festival offers fun activities for the kids, as well as an opportunity to do some holiday shopping. Enjoy great sales, live entertainment, refreshments, and plenty of holiday cheer.
