What would a dance look like if it was less like a performance and more like a sporting event? That’s the question that Monica Bill Barnes set out to explore when she began working on a new piece with her longtime dance partner, Anna Bass, two years ago. The result is “One Night Only,” which has its world premiere Friday at PS21 in Chatham, in a preview showing before its official opening in New York City in two weeks.
