ONE LOVE Benefit Screening

Join us for a special benefit screening of the new film, BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE, to support the restoration and renovation of the Crandell Theatre while reveling in the music and story of a reggae icon. Local writer Joshua Jelly-Schapiro will open the evening with intimate stories from his experience tracing Marley’s roots and legacies in Jamaica while writing his book ‘Island People: The Caribbean and The World’ (Knopf). He will be signing books after the screening.
Joshua Jelly-Schapiro is a geographer and writer whose other books include ‘Names of New York’ and ‘Nonstop Metropolis: A New York City Atlas’ (with Rebecca Solnit). His work appears regularly in The New York Review of Books, The New Yorker, and The New York Times, among many other publications. He is the Director of Publishing at Pioneer Works in Brooklyn, and teaches at NYU.
Tickets are $15 for general admission and $25 for admission and a copy of Island People.
